You may like (the late) Graeber and Wengrow's book Dawn of Everything. It goes into the role native American philosophy, particularly figures from the Great Lakes region, inspired strands of the European Enlightenment. Ideas of freedom and anti-authoritarianism were quite alien to what we now call "Westerners".
