You make a good point about Peterson's reliance on Cold War talking points.

I'm convinced that he wishes he was a prominent media figure during the 70s. That's why he's dredging up the talking points from a bygone era.

Everything about his performance screams, "I should've been invited onto Firing Line!" Peterson's convinced himself that William F Buckley (another shining archetype of manhood) would've had his mind blown by his Jungian explanation for the anti-Vietnam war movement; or how "virtue signaling" could've explained away James Baldwin.
